Daniel Boone loved to explore the wild places of the American colonies. As a boy, he learned the ways of the woods from Indians and other hunters. He grew into a young man who could find his way though the wilderness alone and hunt as well as anyone. Then, in the 1760s, he heard of a beautiful land called Kentucky.
