At seventeen Josh Bess is at a loss of what to do with his life. He meets William Davis an eighty-four year old who sees something in Josh that even the boy doesn't know is there...and he asks Josh to help him record lessons of his many year. Soon the two are spending time at the wharf and William is rediscovering reasons for living and Josh finds his own life in sharper focus.
